IEP & 504
COACHING
Our one-on-one IEP and 504 Coaching sessions are tailored to empower parents to support their child’s individualized education plan or 504 plan. We offer personalized coaching around your IEP plan, providing detailed feedback on their goals, and progress, and suggesting questions to ask, reports to share, and goals to consider to ensure progress and success for your student.
We help parents understand testing data and progress monitoring data, offering clear explanations of their child's performance and how it relates to the improvement of their reading and writing skills. Our coaching can also provide a big picture of literacy skills progressions, ensuring that parents are equipped to work alongside the teacher to ensure progress for their child’s development in both reading and writing.
We offer targeted support to guide the next steps in your child’s literacy education, helping you with your student's individualized education or 504 plan and answering any questions that may come up as you are advocating for your child's success in learning how to read and write.
Our goal is to partner with parents to create a supportive learning environment that fosters growth and success in literacy.

IEP
Individualized Education Plan
We can help you make sense of the data from your child's IEP plan and progress monitoring data, turning complex information into clear insights. By understanding what the data reveals about your child's progress toward their goal, their reading strengths, and areas for improvement, you'll be better equipped to advocate for your student's instructional plan.
We’ll guide you through your students' testing scores, progress monitoring scores, and instructional needs so you know exactly what your child is getting and how they are closing the gap to meet the grade level expectations.
Together, we can develop a plan to address their specific needs, set realistic goals, and track their progress, ensuring they continue to grow as a confident and capable reader.
504 Plans
Section 504 is a federal civil rights law that is designed to eliminate disability discrimination in programs and activities that receive federal funds. Since all public school districts receive federal funds, all public school districts must comply with Section 504. The Iowa Department of Education 504 Parent Guide describes the requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 for each public school district to provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to students with disabilities.
Most 504 plans have accommodations. We will work with you to ensure the accommodations match the need for your student and take into consideration all aspects of the school day. Ensuring every setting and every content area understands how to best meet the needs of your student's specific needs. From assistive technology to testing accommodations we can help you work through the 504 plan to best meet your students' unique needs.
